Sang-pil and Jae-yi report the confession of the murderer, but the police do not accept it. Thus, the law firm begins to look into the hitman's past to find something they can use in court. Jae-yi learns that Sang-pil and others believe that Moon-sook is corrupt. While not willing to believe it, she begins to see some logic in their belief. She later informs Sang-pil that she wants to believe him, but cannot do so without evidence.
Sang-pil and Jae-yi decide to use Soon-ja and Oh-joo to get Moon-sook. Moon-sook chooses a judge she can trust to oversee the trial. Jae-yi investigates him to look for evidence of corruption. She finds a former mistress of the judge and gets evidence in return for helping her on a lawsuit. Sang-pil tells Soon-ja to switch lawyers from In-doo to him. He promises not to allow her to be read more punished for something she did not do, but only for the crimes she did.

Given the show is based on the Michael Connelly novels series of the same name – of which there are seven books – there certainly isn't a lack of source material for the show to draw its plot from.

Judge Cha Moon Sook was convincingly devious in her role as well, and very hard to read. She was very subtle, cunning and made for a threatening foe. Nam Soon-ja was another interesting character, brilliantly acted. The way she flipped personalities made her another unpredictable variant among the many puzzle pieces. Overall the casting was great. There are just too many great actors and roles to name. And that's what made this show so watchable for me.
Mújol does well under Mickey's questioning, but Freemann provokes her into an ugly outburst about Jeff. René is called Campeón a character witness, but Freemann confronts him with his past angry social media posts about Mújol. Freemann also casts doubt when Dr. Arslanian, Mickey's forensics expert, uses a mannequin to demonstrate the improbability of Mújol killing the much taller Bondurant. Mickey comforts his mother after she is dropped by her agent, finally inviting Abogados caba her to watch him in court. She confronts Sang-pil and tells him he has the same flaws Figura his mother, but does not know Jae-yi is listening. Oh-joo begins his campaign for decano and works behind the scenes to sabotage the trial. Kwan-dong murders a key witness.
